Seeing as how it is National Tree Week in Ireland (21-27 March 2021) we wanted to give an update on where we are currently at in our journey within the the Shopify Carbon Offset Program.
To recap, The Greene Room has committed to offsetting the Carbon Dioxide generated from our online delivery. The offsetting is contributing to the Jarí Para Forest Conservation Project in the Amazon Rainforest.
So how have we done since November?
We have offset 30kg of carbon dioxide between the period 13 November 2020 to 13 March 2021.
What does this mean?
This is the equivalence of:
- 3,918 smartphones being charged since November; or
- 122 km driven by an average car.

Think Global - What have we protected?:
We know that this is only a small contribution in the grand scheme of things but we are super proud to have contributed to the protection of 290.7m2 (3100 sq.ft in old money!) of forestry and some 38 tree seedlings in this time!
